Privacy policy

Version of 5 November 2026 (updated for the AI assistant)

This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed in the “Startup Nights 2026 booth map” web app (the “app”), including its AI assistant. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). If the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you, this policy covers it too.

1. Who is responsible

Langrove is responsible for processing your data (the “controller”). For privacy questions and requests, contact us at melissa@tothemoon.build.

The organisers of Startup Nights, the Swiss Startup Association and the exhibitors do not operate the app and receive no personal data from it.

2. In short

3. What we process and why

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: providing the app and assistant you asked to use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); our legitimate interests in security, preventing abuse and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f)); and legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

During testing, the app briefly had a public chat. It has been removed. Its messages are no longer shown and are deleted by 6 December 2026 at the latest.

4. Who receives data

We do not sell or rent personal data and do not share it for advertising.

5. Data abroad

Data is stored in the European Union (Ireland). Switzerland recognises the EU as providing adequate data protection. Questions to the AI assistant are processed by Anthropic in the USA, and AWS is part of a US group. For transfers to the USA we rely on recognised safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or the Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use these requests to train its models and keeps them only for a limited time, for example to detect abuse.

6. How long we keep data

7. Security

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Access rules ensure that only you can read your private data and only the Langrove team can read feedback. The session cookie cannot be read by scripts. No system is completely secure, so please do not enter sensitive information.

8. Your rights

Under the FADP (and the GDPR, if it applies) you can ask for information about the data we hold about you, have incorrect data corrected, have data deleted, object to processing, receive your data in a common format, and withdraw consent you gave.

In the app you can already export your marks and notes (“Export my notes”) and delete your account with all its data. For anything else, write to melissa@tothemoon.build. We answer within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity.

You can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, www.edoeb.admin.ch. In the EU, you can also contact your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies and tracking

The app sets one technically necessary cookie: the session cookie once you sign in. The random ID used for the assistant’s limits stays in your browser’s storage and is not used for tracking or shared. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, no third-party trackers and no external fonts. Links you open from the app, such as startup websites or WhatsApp sharing, are covered by those sites’ own privacy policies.

10. No automated decisions

The AI assistant answers questions about the event. It makes no decisions about you.

11. Age

The app is meant for people aged 16 or older. Younger people should only create an account or use the AI assistant with permission from a parent or guardian.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The version date at the top shows the current version. If we make significant changes, we ask signed-in users to accept them again.

Terms of use

Version of 5 November 2026 (updated for the AI assistant)

1. About the app

The app is an independent demo by Langrove for Startup Nights 2026. It is not an official app of Startup Nights, the Swiss Startup Association or the exhibitors, and its use of their names implies no affiliation or endorsement. Names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners. The app is free of charge and offered for the event only. It may be changed, interrupted, reset or shut down at any time without notice. All data is deleted on 6 December 2026.

2. Accepting these terms

By using the AI assistant or signing in, you accept these terms, including the AI assistant section, and confirm that you have read the privacy policy.

3. Information in the app

Startup descriptions, categories and website links were compiled from public sources on the web. They may be incomplete, outdated or wrong, and they were not provided or approved by the startups. Booth positions follow the organisers’ floor plan and may change on site. Answers from the AI assistant are generated automatically and can be wrong, even when they sound confident. Nothing in the app is investment, legal or other professional advice. Check directly with a startup or on site before relying on any information.

4. Your account

Use your own email address and only one account. You are responsible for what happens in your account, so sign out on shared devices.

5. What you enter

6. Exhibitor notes about visitors

If you note details about people who visit your booth, you are responsible for doing so lawfully. Only note what people agreed to share with you, use it only for your own follow-up, and comply with data protection law towards them. Langrove only stores these notes for you, and only you can read them.

7. Fair use of the AI assistant

Use the assistant for questions about the event and the app. Do not try to misuse it, for example by sending automated requests, trying to make it produce harmful or illegal content, or trying to extract its instructions. Usage limits apply, and we may limit or switch off the assistant at any time.

8. Availability and data

This is a demo. We do not guarantee that it is available, free of errors or that data is kept. Export anything you want to keep before 6 December 2026.

9. Liability

The app and the AI assistant are provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Langrove is not liable for damage from using the app or from not being able to use it, for inaccurate information including answers from the AI assistant, for lost data, or for information that users enter themselves. Liability for intent, gross negligence and any other liability that cannot be excluded by law remains.

10. Changes

We may change these terms. We will ask signed-in users to accept significant changes.

11. Law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The place of jurisdiction is Langrove’s registered office, subject to mandatory places of jurisdiction, for example for consumers.

AI assistant

Version of 5 November 2026

What it does

It uses Claude, an AI model by Anthropic. It only knows the booth list and floor plan of this map. It does not know the event programme, ticket details or anything that happens on site.

It can be wrong

AI answers can be inaccurate or incomplete. Booth positions come from the organisers’ floor plan, and startup descriptions from public web sources. Check the map and the signs on site.
